Elephant Face Painting Tutorial
A gentle, friendly elephant with large ears and a curled trunk.
The elephant is one of the most lovable safari animals. Its large ears and long trunk make it instantly recognisable, and the simple gray palette makes it very forgiving for beginners.
Tutorial Overview
Step-by-Step Instructions
Sketch the Head Shape
Use a round brush to lightly sketch a large oval head and two large fan-shaped ears on each side.
Fill the Gray Base
Sponge light gray evenly across the head and ears, then add a slightly darker gray around the edges to give shape.
Paint the Inner Ear
Using a flat brush, fill the inside of each ear with a soft pink paint.
Add the Trunk
Paint a curved trunk hanging down from the center of the face using gray paint. Curl it slightly at the bottom.
Eyes and Toes
Add two friendly dark eyes above the trunk. Optionally paint small round toenail details at the bottom of the design.
Wrinkle Lines
Use a fine brush to add a few gentle curved lines on the trunk and forehead to give a wrinkled skin texture.
Star Sparkles
Finish with white highlight dots in the eyes and scatter a few small star sparkles around the completed design.
Safety & Skin Care
